I don't think $ 600 per person does anything. It's not enough to help those that need help, and it's not like it's enough to encourage others to spend more money. I think it's a superficial politically motivated solution.
The additional unemployment is more money mostly directed at more needy people, a step up from the stimulus but still flawed. Stated simply, the more comfortable you make it for people to not work, the more people that will choose to not work.
What I think is most important is another round low interest long term SBA loans for hard hit industries. They're the ones that need help
Then a similar program for families that have suffered real economic loss as a direct result of the pandemic and the shutdowns. The best part of the SBA loan programs are that it really doesn't add to the debt. It increases the deficit short term, but not the long term debt. If the loans are for 30 years at 3.75% with payments deferred for 1 or 2 years, that's real cash flow
Businesses and families that suffered no economic loss should not receive another economic benefit
